Our weekly 60-minute lesson will open with a lesson plan introducing the students to key electronics/programming concepts followed by hands-on projects to learn how to setup computer systems, connect sensors, work with breadboard, and write basic code to control the circuits, sensors and cameras. Introduction to Coding and Programming with Scratch
What is Scratch? Scratch is a programming language where children can program and share interactive media such as stories, games, and animation with people from all over the world. As children create with Scratch, they learn to think creatively, work collaboratively, and reason systematically. Class meets once a week for 75 minutes.

Intermediate Scratch Programming
From Introduction to Scratch, students' code vocabulary has grown to include core computational thinking principles like sequences, events, loops, operators, conditionals, functions, and data. The Scratch series continues with intermediate lessons in which students learn additional core computational thinking concepts like conditional statements (if/then) functions, and using data with variables. Advanced coding and math concepts will also be introduced. Class meets once a week for 75 minutes.

Students will be captivated in this 60-minute class as they explore various STEM projects such as making exciting gadgets, exploring electricity, building a circuit to create a buzzer, and constructing an electromagnet.
These hands-on Do-It-Yourself projects are original, creative and inspiring. Fascinating projects such as wiggling drawing bots, LED bracelets will keep curious minds thinking about how things work while enhancing their appreciation of science and technology at work in their daily lives. Kids become engineers as we explore marvelous machines and discover how they make work easier and more fun! The cumulative knowledge and learning experience not only help students to build a strong foundation in STEM, but also strengthen their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
